UPSPS welcomes new majority shareholder as part of long-term strategy
UPS Power Solutions (UPSPS) is delighted to announce an important and positive step in the continuing evolution of its operations, with Pavan Vyas joining as a majority shareholder and taking on the role of Managing Director.
Following more than two decades of industry leading growth and a steadfast commitment to New Zealand’s energy resilience, this is a natural next step for UPSPS.
Built from the kitchen table nearly 25 years ago, the company has stayed true to a singular philosophy: People first, always.
It has since grown to become an industry-leading provider of critical power solutions, underpinned by deep technical expertise and home to the most competent UPS engineers in the country.
Continuity meets capability
Pavan Vyas joins UPSPS with a background in scaling technology-based businesses, but it was the people-first culture of UPSPS that drew him to the partnership.

I’m excited to support this talented team and ensure our partners and customers continue to receive the best-in-class service they’ve come to rely on,” he says.
Vyas brings a long-term ownership mindset, with executive-level experience across technology, electricity and accelerating businesses in New Zealand.

Exciting strategic milestone
Founder Nicky Blackmore will transition into the role of Executive Director, maintaining her deep connection to the company’s culture and strategic direction alongside Graham Blackmore, who remains in his Business Development role, and the wider leadership team.
She says that this decision reflects an addition to the business, not a change in direction.
“The people, values and expertise remain firmly in place along with our commitment to customers. All of the best things about UPSPS will be strengthened with additional leadership and capability,” she says.
This announcement comes during a season of momentum for UPSPS, following success at the recent Eaton Partner Awards and the celebration of key staff milestones, further cementing its position as a pillar of New Zealand’s electrical industry.
