UPS Power Solutions (UPSPS) was excited to attend the 2025 CSB Global Channel Summit in Karuizawa, Japan last month, joining more than 200 delegates from around the world for three days of insight, innovation and connection.

Managing Director Nicky Blackmore, Business Development Director Graham Blackmore, and Corporate Sales Manager Sam Lingman represented UPSPS at the event, which brought together CSB’s global partner network to explore the company’s rich history, technical expertise, and future direction.

Nicky Blackmore says the summit was a valuable opportunity to connect with peers who share UPSPS’s focus on customer value and long-term quality.

“Networking with partners from every corner of the world really highlighted how universal the challenges of power reliability have become. What stood out most was the consistent emphasis on quality, performance and ensuring that every decision ultimately delivers value to the customer,” she says.

Innovation on display

A major highlight was CSB’s extensive trade exhibition, which showcased current and emerging technologies, including lithium battery cabinets, the XPT super high-density battery range and CSB’s expanding suite of digital tools and solutions.

Of particular interest to UPSPS was the evolution of the CSB Batt-Sizer application; a practical tool that sizes battery systems based on load, footprint and runtime. The platform also calculates required cooling to maintain optimal 25-degree operating temperatures and can automatically generate specification PDFs for consultants and engineers.

“We already use Batt-Sizer and know its value so it was great to see how CSB continues to invest in tools that make life easier for designers, consultants and customers. We encourage local consultants and engineers to get in touch and make use of this valuable tool,” says Sam Lingman.

Learning from a global community

Across keynotes, panel discussions and product sessions, CSB leaders emphasised the company’s long-standing commitment to manufacturing excellence. The focus on technical expertise, quality and performance all strongly align with UPS Power Solutions’ approach in New Zealand.

Graham Blackmore says that being able to network with CSB’s global partners provided excellent insights on delivering the best customer outcomes.

“Speaking with partners from around the world gave us a clear view of how different markets are approaching similar challenges. It was a reminder that while technologies evolve, the fundamentals of reliability, safety, longevity remain the same everywhere. It was also validating to know that New Zealand organisations are able to access and deploy the latest technologies” he says.

A uniquely Japanese experience

The event began with a four-hour journey west from Tokyo to Karuizawa, where delegates were welcomed with cultural performances.

Each evening was a treat of entertainment and organised dinners showcasing Japanese hospitality. On the return journey, attendees enjoyed a stop at the iconic Mount Fuji, a memorable conclusion to the week.

The summit also provided ample opportunity to spend time with the wider CSB leadership team, including Eric Hill, Wuihan Cheah, Sally Chou, Dennis Thong and Phoebe Hung.

Nicky Blackmore says that the experience was both valuable and gratifying and reinforced the strong and collaborative relationship between CSB and UPSPS.

“Spending time with the CSB leadership team and their global partners was a privilege. The summit celebrated CSB’s ongoing commitment to quality and demonstrated the level of innovation that continues to shape our industry. We came away inspired, informed and very proud of the partnership we have built together.”

UPS Power Solutions looks forward to bringing the latest CSB innovations, insights and technologies to New Zealand businesses as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering reliable, fit-for-purpose power solutions.
